in israel that we're following for you where a bus in tel aviv exploded this morning with passengers on board. information is still coming in. we have this video that's in to us. initial reports indicate as many as 10 people were injured. three people were taken to the hospital with moderate to severe injurie injuries. the bus was on a busy thoroughfare around noon local time there across from the military headquarters in tel aviv. one witness describes the bus as completely charred. we're taking a look here at the video ourselves. officials say they are searching for a suspect who is believed to have planted the device on the bus. according to israeli officials, the last bus bombing was in 2004. this, as secretary of state hillary clinton is in the middle east trying to defuse the explosive outbreak of violence between israel and palestinians in gaza. she met palestinian president abbas earlier this morning and will sit down with egypt's president in cairo. we'll be following that as well. >>> all right. coming up on "morning joe" -- former national security adviser dr. brzezinski.

before the united states as opposed to israel or neighbors of iran? i think it is possible that we could accept something that the iranians would say we have already picked the japan option. we want to demonstrate we have the technical capabilities, but without the possibility of deploying full weapons systems and we would give assurance to the international community. whether the president used slightly more casual language than he intended that day, i do not know. as for timons, remember -- -- time lines, remember, there are a range of tools being used to interrupt, if you will come in iran -- if you will, to iran as fast track to nuclear capability. its sounds implausible, but we really do not know. the deadline keeps shifting, literally keeps shifting, because the iranians are suffering setbacks within their own time line and that is not always apparent to us. i am not saying it has to be done by a particular year or not. there will always be an external variables that slightly change the dynamics of this. >> ellen, can i add on that? i think the reason 2013, early 2014 is the focus

that hope both here and in israel that the squeeze of sanctions will somehow hasten the regime change in iran. in other words it is some other purpose besides leverage for getting the concessions on the nuclear issue and that isn't withstanding the prospect that even if there were regime change, and i certainly wouldn't advise holding your breath and waiting for it, it would mean whoever comes into power and say they would fold on the nuclear issue, not likely given the broad support that a nuclear program is peaceful nuclear program has in iran. note also that a lot of the u.s. imposed sanctions as embedded in the legislation have had other issues besides the nuclear one stated as a rationale, human rights, that sort of thing, relations with terrorist groups, and so it would be very difficult here on the hill to get back down on that even if the negotiations went well with the iranians. all of these constraints do not go very well for taking advantage of that negotiating space that does exist, and showing flexibility in using sanctions for what they ostensibly ought to be used for wh
